A piece of local history became an official part of Discovery Place KIDS-Huntersville on August 5 when a 1952 Allis Chalmers B tractor was installed at the Museum. The tractor, donated by the Ed Davis family, will become a permanent part of the I CAN Be Healthy exhibit area, which encourages healthy lifestyles.
The tractor has a long history in the local community. Originally purchased brand new by C.L. Hucks in 1952, it was with his family until Hucks sold it to Ed Davis in 1974. The tractor has been a part of Davis farm and family ever since. Davis family, who was on-hand for the installation of the tractor along with the Hucks family, chose to donate it to Discovery Place KIDSHuntersville so that it can be enjoyed by the entire community. Special thanks to the Stumptown Tractor Club for sponsoring and refurbishing the tractor.
