Create a Memory with a Hand Tile in the New Museum

Perhaps the most vivid memories we hold are those from our childhoods. Pause for a moment and remember your favorite play memory. I bet you are starting to smile! I’m imagining pretending I’m deep in the jungle in an overgrown sink hole next to my parent’s home. Discovery Place KIDS will enable our children to imagine themselves as community heroes or deep-sea explorers creating memories that will last for a lifetime.

Before the Museum even opens, you and your favorite little person can work together to create your very first Discovery Place KIDS memory. Discovery Place KIDS is partnering with Our Paintin’ Place (www.ourpaintinplace.com) at Northlake Commons to offer the opportunity for your child to leave their mark on this exciting community project. For a gift of $250, you and your child will get messy as you choose a favorite color and paint the child’s hand. A print of your child’s hand is then made on two tiles and their name and age is added. One tile will be displayed in the Museum permanently and you will receive one tile as a keepsake. Each time you visit the Museum, your child’s first stop will be to visit their tile and see how much they’ve grown. What a wonderful way to chronicle this moment in our community’s and your child’s history!
