You may think youve seen everything in the Museum but have you spent time in Aunt Sarahs Attic?
Step back in time and into fun as you uncover objects including toys, clothes, music and books from the past. The time period on exhibit changes regularly, currently the 1960s are featured. Youll always find a few favorites and attic essentials including a school room set-up from years past, a tea party set and intricate doll houses.

Community Service Opportunities for Teens at Discovery Place KIDS

Discovery Place KIDSHuntersville is searching for teens ages 12-18 to volunteer at the Museum this summer.
Teens will have the opportunity to serve as Summer Camp assistant teachers working with children from ages 2-7 in camps such as Extreme Construction and A-Z Animals. Or they can serve as a play assistant in our I CAN pretend community while assisting visitors with art, gardening, puppetry and more.
Teens that are interested should complete an online application and return it by February 21st.
Interviews for applicants will be held on March 7, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Discovery Place; 301 N. Tryon St, Charlotte. Teens accepted to the program will be informed no later than March... Keep reading.

The theme this month at Discovery Place KIDS is I CAN be Healthy. Explore the Museum and encounter special activities that highlight ways to be happy and healthy including the NEW Lub a Dub Happy Heart puppet show FREE with Museum admission. Follow the Puppet Shows main character Billy, the Goat, as he learns about nutritional things to eat and how you can be healthy at home too.
