Discovery Place KIDS Celebrates First Birthday with a Weekend of Special Activities
October 18, 2011HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. Discovery Place KIDS-Huntersville is wiggling, giggling and growing! The Museum, which turns one year old this month, will kick off birthday festivities with a full weekend of celebratory activities on October 22-23. From face painting and bubble blowing in the Learning Garden to birthday-themed activities throughout the Museum and visits with mascot Can Can, this special First Birthday Weekend will feature pint-sized play and family fun. Discovery Place KIDS, which opened October 23, 2010, has seen more than 213,000 visitors to date.
Can Can and our staff have so many reasons to celebrate such a momentous occasion, said Barrett Long, director, Discovery Place KIDS-Huntersville. The smiles, laughter and play that we see every day from our Members and guests mean that not only are our youngest visitors learning, but they are having a lot of fun too.
Little partygoers can celebrate all day Saturday and Sunday with activities throughout the Museums theme areas, including:
I CAN Create: Make hats, birthday decorations and cards for Discovery Place KIDS first birthday and help decorate a special sign with birthday messages
I CAN Be Healthy: Get your body moving with yoga, dance, games and healthy-eating activities
